How do I configure my iPhone to connect to HCI_WLAN secure wireless network?

Preparation for iPhone Users

Before beginning your wireless configuration, please ensure that your HCI Windows account is active and that the password has not expired.

Connecting to HCI WLAN

  1. Tab the Settings icon from the home screen of your iPhone.

  2. Tab Wi-Fi on the Settings screen and select Others, if it is not already selected.

  3. Key in the information as shown below.
    Name : HCI_WLAN
    Security : WPA Enterprise
    Username : Your_Windows_UserID
    Password : Your_Windows_Password


    A tick will indicate that you have a successful connection.

Configuring proxy settings for External Browsing

All internet browsing via HCI networks must go through HCI's proxy servers. Proxy servers log all internet activities.

  1. Tab the blue arrow to the right of the HCI_WLAN item in the Choose a Network list.

  2. Tab Manual from the bottom HTTP Proxy options (will appear Blue, once selected)

  3. Enter the following in the Server field: proxy.hci.edu.sg Port : 8080

  4. Tab the Wi-Fi Networks button in the top left hand corner to save this setting.

  5. Tab the home button to go back to the Home screen.
    The HCI_WLAN wireless network is now available from your iPhone.
