How to connect to Wireless@HCI


Select the appropriate Wireless Network

  1. Right click on either of this icon (WirelessConnect_WinXP.png or WirelessConnect_Win7.png) found at the bottom right hand corner of the screen. The following screen will be displayed:

  2. Select "View Available Wireless Networks". The following screen will be displayed.

  3. Select "Wireless@HCI" and click "Connect".

Configure the proxy setting of your browser

  1. Open your browser e.g. IE --> select Tools\Internet Options\Connections\LAN Settings

    Under proxy server, type in "proxy4.hci.edu.sg" into the Address box and "8080" into Port box.

    Click on "Advanced" button and type in "*.arubanetworks.com" into "Exception" box.

  2. Click "OK" thrice to apply the settings.

Browsing via the Wireless Network

  1. Start your web browser and you will be prompted to log in automatically.

  2. Enter your HCI username e.g. y09hci0001 and windows password, and then click on the "Log In" button.

    Once the login button is clicked, the following screen will appear:

    You will also be able to view a new tab or pop-up windows as shown below:

Gentle Reminder : Disconnect your LAN connection if you are using wireless and vice versa. And remember to logout.
